Cybersecurity Specialist
Location: Washington, DC Cybersecurity Specialist Location: Washington, DC Level: Mid-Level to Senior (6+ years experience) Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role: Protect our clients' critical assets and infrastructure as a Cybersecurity Specialist. You will conduct security assessments, implement defensive measures, respond to threats, and help organizations build a security-first culture. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct comprehensive security assessments and penetration testing - Identify vulnerabilities and develop remediation strategies - Implement security controls and defense mechanisms - Monitor security systems and analyze security events - Develop and maintain security policies and procedures - Respond to and investigate security incidents - Perform threat analysis and create risk assessments - Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements (HIPAA, PCI-DSS, GDPR, etc.) - Provide security training and awareness programs - Stay current with evolving threat landscapes and countermeasures Required Qualifications: - 6+ years of cybersecurity or information security experience - Professional security certifications (CEH, CISSP, Security+, or equivalent) - Strong knowledge of network security and firewalls - Experience with vulnerability assessment tools and techniques - Understanding of compliance frameworks and standards - Proficiency with security information and event management (SIEM) tools - Knowledge of incident response procedures - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications: - CISSP or CISM certification - OSCP or similar offensive security certification - Experience in cloud security - Background in incident response or threat hunting - Knowledge of application security - Experience with compliance audits Benefits: - Federal government competitive salary - Top-secret clearance sponsorship potential - Comprehensive health and wellness benefits - Retirement plan with matching - Professional development and training budget - Cybersecurity conference attendance - Collaborative work environment
